About Us

At West Suffolk Agility Club the emphasis is on having FUN with your pet dog in a safe environment under the guidance of experienced instructors.
We teach FUN agility and responsible dog ownership by training our dogs with patience, kindness and reward. We never reprimand our dogs if they make mistakes, we simply coax and encourage with praise and reward until they get it right - praising the correct behaviour and ignoring the incorrect. While our dogs are learning agility they are continually rewarded with tiny food treats or favourite toys and by lots of verbal praise and encouragement.
We are a self-supporting, non-profit making club run by our members for our members. We hope you and your dog will enjoy learning agility in a safe, friendly and caring environment. Instruction is given by experienced instructors using kindness, understanding and food treats or toys as rewards to gently encourage the dogs over or through each piece of agility equipment. There is no set beginners' course, as all dogs work at their own pace, so we prefer to give on-going instruction when and where it is needed within our normal class.
Our year round venue is at Pear Tree Farm Equestrian Centre, Brockley Road, Hartest, Suffolk IP29 4EQ by kind permission of the farm's owners, Mr & Mrs Andrew May. It is a working farm and equestrian centre so please behave accordingly. Drive slowly and carefully at all times as there could be a horse or piece of farm machinery around the corner. Keep dogs under close control at all times while on the premises.
Please respect the venue, stay in the area we hire, don't intrude in the owners' private spaces and take all litter/dog poo home with you. Thank You.
Although we are one club, we meet on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at the same venue but we run them as two separate groups.
Wednesday Night Club is for Fun & Social Agility,
Thursday Night Club is for Improvers & Competition Level Agility.
Both Clubs are suitable for complete beginners.
This website is for our Wednesday Night Club for Fun & Social Agility and meets weekly at:
Peartree Farm, Hartest, Suffolk. IP29 4EQ

Wednesday night Club opens at 7pm when we all help set up the evening’s agility equipment then classes begin about 7.20pm. Classes finishes approximately 9.15pm to allow time to clear away the equipment before the club closes at 9.30pm.
All members are expected to help set up and/or put away agility equipment where possible. Throughout the evening beginners through to experienced handlers work their dogs in a non-competitive atmosphere learning from experienced instructors, the correct and safe way to train their dog in agility while having a fun and enjoyable evening.
Agility is suitable for almost all breeds of healthy adult dogs and is a great way to keep both you and your dog fit while helping build a great bond between you both.
